About Bo
My name is Bo Grant. I recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a 'Masters in Marketing' & 'Bachelors of Science in Commerce & Business Administration'. Along side my education, I also played football at the University of Alabama for 5 seasons (2013-2018).
Through my experiences over the last 5 years, I’ve had to have the ability to effectively use skills such as time management, team leadership, & tenacious work ethic in order to be successful. Different than most student-athlete experiences, being at the University of Alabama during the time I have been here I have experienced an historic run of success for a football program that has rarely been matched in college football history. I have been in 3 National Championship games, 3 SEC Championship games, and have competed in every college football playoff since they began. With this kind of success brings unimaginable pressure. Being in the position I have been in, I have learned how to embrace these pressures and thrive when the pressures are at their peak. I am a firm believer that great preparation creates desirable outcomes. With an undergrad degree centered around business management partnered with a graduate degree in marketing, I believe I have positioned myself to be a major asset for companies seeking an passionate individual with a variety of skills to positively impact their company.
One thing I have learned from my experience is that whether it's in classroom projects or national championship games with the whole nation watching, when given a task the only way to be successful is to take pride in your assignment and always do more than is expected. I am a firm believer that great preparation creates desired results, therefore I try to always to learn as much as I can about whatever situation I'm in so that I can capitalize on opportunities and achieve optimal results/outcomes.

Workforce Experience
Commercial Representative
Currently I work for Nucor Steel based out of the Tuscaloosa Plate Division as a Commercial Representative. Commercial Representative is a sales position prepares the qualified individual to ultimately become a District Sales Manager in steel manufacturing. Initial responsibilities include becoming familiar with the Nucor Plate group, the products and the Nucor team; getting exposure to and helping support the Plate Group’s strategic growth initiatives as well as Nucor’s Commercial Excellence and 1Nucor initiatives; completing projects in support of the commercial efforts; and managing specific accounts and products as an Inside Sales Representative. Extensive travel occurs during duration of this position. Also a lot of direct interaction with corporate's initiatives.
Intern at Forward Progress Athletic Consulting
Forward Progress Athletics Consulting is the industry leader in NCAA-related academics and APR consulting. Forward Progress also offers extensive athletic department staff and student-athlete leadership development services. As an Intern, I work with the Forward Progress staff to satisfy a variety of duties. My main responsibilities as an intern include: • Daily monitoring & maintaining of Forward Progress social media platforms to increase interest in the Forward Progress brand. • Collaborate with Forward Progress staff to create engaging multi-media presentations. • Assist with the development of Forward Progress marketing materials • Conduct basic research on NCAA Academics, Eligibility and related topics as assigned. • Attend weekly video meetings with the Forward Progress staff to discuss client accounts, events, marketing, media, etc. • Maintain the Forward Progress Website calendar. • Attend Leadership workshop presentations, when possible. • Engage in strategic planning initiatives with Forward Progress staff. • Communicate with potential clients regarding Forward Progress services and fees. • Other duties as assigned.
University of Alabama Student-Athlete (Football)
As a student-athlete at the University of Alabama, I've learned the importance of self-discipline, great character, preparation, commitment, and so much more. I've had the opportunity to have some of the best mentors and coaches that have forever changed my life for the better. I've had some of the best coaching as a Defensive Back at the University of Alabama playing under Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Mel Tucker, and many more very successful coaches in the sport.

Academically, I have participated in a variety of projects that have given me experience working with others in business environments. A couple of the projects I have been associated with include but aren’t limited to:
> UA Hockey Club- partnering with the UA Hockey Club creating and executing a marketing plan to raise attendance levels at games, and also raise student’s/community involvement with the team.
> Furnish Tuscaloosa- Team Lead on a project where we took an individual’s idea of providing unwanted furniture from students to low income homes and created a non-profit from that idea. Once creating the non-profit, we also assisted in the planning and execution of launching the non-profit’s first event.
Nick Saban Football Camp Assistant Coach
Skills-teaching camp that is designed to give each athlete a solid foundation in the football fundamentals needed to excel at his position.
Being a coach at this camp I have learned that everyone learns in a different way and also that people are motivated by different factors.
While coaching I have enhanced my ability to communicate in a variety of ways in order to convey the message that is needed for each task.The Camp's Include multiple sessions throughout the summer centered around the following demographics:
- Youth Camp (Ages 8-14)
- High-School Camp (including: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors)
Harbert Management Corporation Internship
Internship: Harbert Venture Partners, Birmingham, AL
My Internship at Harbert Management Corporation was focused around teaching me the process of investment strategies, and the processes in the financial sector that they were involved with which
included the Southeast/ Mid-Atlantic entrepreneurial opportunities.
While here I experienced first-hand sales pitches, accounting methods & building financial reports, how to communicate with clients both business to business (B2B) & business to consumer (B2C).
